Class Syllabus:
In our elementary life skills classroom, we work on individual goals based on the student's IEP goals. Those goals include reading such as letters, letter sounds, sight words, spelling, and building reading skills. In math, students work on counting, identifying, and writing numbers, telling time, identifying coins and counting money, addition, subtraction, introduction to fractions, and measurement. The class will be utilizing the new math curriculum Ready Math. With Ready Math students will take a diagnostic test to place them in the appropriate lesson in which we will start. Students will also have access to completing corresponding lessons independently online with iReady. Students also work on learning their personal information and using an Ipad and chrome book as well.
In the classroom we also work on functional skills such as personal hygiene, social skills, manners, dressing, tying shoes, speech and occupational therapy items.
