FORENSIC SCIENCE COURSE DESCRIPTION
Forensic science in its broadest definition is the application of science to law. Its also defined as the application of science to the criminal and civil laws that are enforced by police agencies in a criminal justice system. Forensic science is an umbrella term encompassing a myriad of professions that use their skills to help law enforcement officials conduct their investigations. The units we will be covering in this semester course are crime scene and eyewitness basics, the power of physical evidence (like fingerprinting, impression evidence, hair and fiber analysis, blood basics and pattern analysis, and DNA). Forensic Science is a semester course that meets five periods per week.

COURSE PREREQUISITES
Students should be taking or should have taken Biology.
